FemVue
If you are having a hard time getting pregnant, you doctor may recommend having your fallopian tubes checked. Sonohysterography, or sono HSG, is a simple ultrasound procedure used to view the inside of the fallopian tubes, as well as detect abnormalities of the uterus.
Instead of going to a hospital for a traditional hysterosalpingogram (HSG), which uses X-rays and X-ray contrast dye to evaluate the fallopian tubes, FemVue can be done in the comfort of our office. Sono HSG uses saline, air, and ultrasound to help your doctor visualize your fallopian tubes and determine if they are open.
The procedure usually takes between 10 and 30 minutes to complete and the results are available immediately.
Evaluating the fallopian tubes may be performed as one of several tests used to check for causes of infertility. For a complete infertility evaluation, call Piedmont Women’s Healthcare today at (404) 352-3656.
